Love "mantle" style hood and display area over it to break things up, visually. Love some glass fronted cabinetry, natural light with windows, varying color on the island. Think the room, like they say every room needs some black. Interested more in black as accent color, though. Not as much as here.

Too much green, but like the combination of this green and that medium cherry woodtone, possibly with another accent color.

Love large "country" sink, lots of windows - this is very similar to what I've envisioned, and varied colors.
I know Randy had liked the idea, at one point, of some separation between the kitchen and eating area. Not sure of this specifically, but like the see-through nature of the cabinetry if it were something like this.
Interesting! Area with soft seating, cafe tables and desk in expansion area of kitchen? I had thought that perhaps we could do bench seating on one side of the kitchen table if it were near the window... Food for thought!

Desk in many of these seems to be away from cooking area, but closer to the eating area, which may work.

Set apart a bit so it's not right in the middle of everything, but still there.
Like overall feel, however it's a little dark and the decoration above the hood is too ornate for the style we're looking for.

Like the varied look of this kitchen - different colors & textures, as well as the lanterns over the island.

Love the seating near the windows. Would not want the furniture like that, but the pop out and ability to accomodate soft seating is something I would really like.
Love the brick fireplace look of the "hood". Love the colonial blue. As I've said before, I'm concerned that if we do too wood and then too my neutral on the cabinets, the room will really lack color. Like the subtle colonial tones along with the panneled look.
Love the idea of a walk-in pantry and also hanging space for linens. I'm out of space for that stuff!
