Notice lighting- more bang for your buck w lighting pulled out in front but still in in Millwork. Then don't have to lighting at every shelf.

Notice the lighting and cases- how they are integrated into Millwork. Light wood. Too modern? This technique can be used- but style changed.
Thin and clean
Just as a point of contrast-shelves etc in wall - it's not Millwork. Not necessarily recommending this for you, but want to show you this look.
Slope on top; not jagged. Notice shelves have no backs.
