This cabinet arrangement would work far better for the way we store dishes. With only 2 or 3 tall pots, a horizontal layouts make WAY more sense! Could do on BOTH sides. Sink side utilizing the deeper 2 shelf config for those odd devices.

Pots & pans in deep horizontal drawers, stacked vertically, under gas stovetop. (Perhaps cooking utensils, spatulas, etc in narrow drawer directly under stove?) Deep horizontal drawers& narrow verticals probably have more function that typical open cabinets.

Wine rack, slide out baskets (for that narrow cabinet?), microwave at hip level if you don't have convection/microwave combo.. Could see this being similar if 2nd window was our fridge.

Child work area. Extended under window. What if slab was mounted on slats so it could be raised to second level right under window when age appropriate? Art/play station now, homework station later?
