“Light House Design was the architecture firm I hired for a major house renovation involving knocking down interior walls, adding a four season porch, moving a bathroom, adding a deck and front entryway, as well as new windows, roof, exterior siding, and electrical system. They provided a thoughtful and attractive design in keeping with the style of the house. They listened to our goals and suggestions and often incorporated them in the drawings they created. We began design of a new home with Gail Hallock, Inc. in April, 2011 after working with a number of other architects for about a year on preliminary designs. Gail deftly sketched throughout our conversations making sure we were on the same page. She was adept at picking up our 'style'. She does not produce cookie-cutter homes. The creativity that Gail demonstrated with our home amazes me even today, a year after taking up residence. There's not a day that goes by that I don't look at some detail Gail created and think how beautiful it is and how lucky I am to live here. Gail is also one of the kindest people I have come across, plays well with others and was a strong and demonstrative advocate making sure that our home was built exactly as specified and with the correct materials throughout the project. We feel very fortunate to have found her. She does wear some fairly silly hats.”

“Michael does a great job of listening to what you want and then translating that into a plan. He has a great eye and understands from a practical standpoint how people will flow through a space. While MIchael's tastes are on the modern side, my taste is more "transitional" and Michael has been able to do a great job of taking my preferences and making them work. Having said that, he has a great eye, and I almost take his recommendations and have been happy I did. MIchael is very responsive and will take all the time needed to revise a plan so that every detail is accounted for. In my almost 10 years post renovation, I have recommended Michael to 5 sets of friends who hired him and they have all been very happy with the results and have gone on to recommend him as well. Michael is sensitive to budgets, knows how to communicate with contractors, and regulators (i.e, City hall) and on top of all that, from a client perspective, he is very pleasant and eager to please.
