cabinet pull sizing visualizer?

Hello everyone! I am obsessing a bit over the sizes of the pulls for our new cabinets. We will have 11 different widths of drawers in the new kitchen, so I'm trying to find 2-3 sizes of pulls that will best fit. I am wondering if there is a program out there that would let you input the size of your drawer or door face and the size of a pull? I've been using graph paper, but it seems like such a simple program that maybe it exists and would make my life easier? Worth asking.. Thanks in advance!

I disagree that all the pulls should be the same size. Pull manufacturers make them in multiple sizes for a reason. And BeverlyFLADeziner's pics show smaller pulls on the narrower widths.

The rule of thumb is the pull should be roughly one-third the width of the drawer. If you have the pulls all one size, you could end up with narrow drawers with out-of-proportion large pulls, and wide drawers with out-of-proportion small pulls. As to two pulls on the larger drawers, I do not like that for several reasons: (a) it can look too busy depending on how many extra-wide drawers you have, (b) it's more expensive to have to buy two pulls for a drawer than one wider one, and (c) usually people will grasp only one of the pulls when opening a drawer with two pulls. That leads to one pull on one side bearing too much and eventually starting to come loose, and also can rack the drawer over time if it is pulled constantly on one side.

If you are deciding between two sizes of pulls, make an aluminum foil template of each of the pulls' sizes. Hold them up in front of the drawers. If you don't have the drawers in front of you, make a rectangle cut-out from cardboard of the drawer width (from a shipping box is usually handy), and then hold up or tape on the aluminum foil pulls to see which looks best.

it would be! but we wont have our cabinets for another week or two and they want us to order the pulls now.

It's hard to do without seeing your own cabinets installed first. I spent a while using blue tape this past weekend and still can't finalize what I want! I suggest waiting.

Typically, the same size pulls are used throughout the kitchen. It can look very choppy, otherwise.

Use the same size pulls and just double up on the larger drawers if necessary. Knobs on doors

They come in different sizes because people have different hand sizes. And tend to way way overthink the issue. Modern drawer hardware has eliminated most of the functional reasons for different sizes of hardware. It’s down to personal preference between style and size consistency, or introducing yet another feature element into the kitchen. As with many things, simpler is better.

I disagree that is why pulls come in different sizes. Family members all have different hand sizes all living in the same home. The manufacturers make pulls in different sizes because drawers are made in different sizes, and people have different ideas - as we see here - on what is the appropriate sizes for drawers. Has nothing to do with hand sizes.

As an aside, my pet peeve is pulls that are so shallow you cannot fit your fingers into them to pull on them. That is very common. If it were true that pulls are made to accommodate different hand sizes, there wouldn't be so many that don't fit anyone's hand.
