We don’t need the extra gable, but the door on one side and French doors on the next is what I have in mind (but two sets of French doors). I’d prefer shingle siding, but this is a good example of combining siding and stone.

Stylistically, I think I like the shingle style for this building, combined with the stone.

This is an good example of what I’m thinking for the inside. It’s a garage, but with a good floor and finishes out enough to be habitable and clean. I also like the trancept.

This seems close to the concept. It is attached to a breezeway. I don’t think we need the extra piece on the right, but the idea is right and this is an attractive example. We would make it stylistically match our home.

This is a conversion, but I like the idea of it opening with French doors on the side that faces the house.

Ground-level example. If this was the one that works best with our terrain, then I’m not sure an “entrance” makes sense.

This seems the closest to what Steve described. We are curious about the level—ground level or up a step or two (this photo has too many steps). If possible, we would want it to be continuous to the UPS door. Also, Steve had described having a midpoint “entrance” that steps down and would have the big columns. We like that idea, if it’s not design overkill.
