I like to dump and drop when I walk in the door (purse, shoes, keys, mail) and would like to deposit all these things before I enter the kitchen area. If I don't, then it will go on the kitchen counter or the kitchen table. I'd like a place to put the bin of dog food, dog bowls, leash, koi pond food, bird seed, and trash and recycling bin. I would like a place to stash my yoga mat (could keep in garage) run gear (reflective vest, headlight, gloves, running shoes, watch) and totes that I use to carry things in when I go to work out. I would like this space to be hard working in terms of function, but attractive, too. Some open shelving would be nice, but I don't want to let it all hang out, so to speak.
