I'm surprised to say that the varying length shelves works well here. (not much else I like about this though...)

Shows dark countertop with tile and open shelves, and a small soffit above. But I don't like the dark shelf brackets, and it seems the wood is overly dark (compare with the window trim). The tile is interesting, but I would rotate it 90 degrees so it becomes more like 'subway' tile, but with the angled side edges. Also, probably omit the top shelf, as it is way to high up for use without a step ladder!

Like the matching panels covering the soffit. Maybe we could make ours have the flattened arch we have discussed in the past, going from the bookcase on the left to the fridge enclosure on the right...
