This is a reasonably close representation of what it would look like if we crown the way the sample door is designed and the way Ty has already drawn the elevations. If this is your favorite, then we should just move forward as planned and ditch my detour.

this is a close approximation of what I am talking about. Their is a detail at the top of the cabinet face frame (bottom of the frieze board) and then a proportionately taller flat frieze board and finally a crown to finish. In our application, I think that the height of that final crown piece should be half the size of the one pictured here.

This crown is similar in concept to what I mean by "simpler". However, it doesn't quite capture the vintage appeal we'd get out of a frieze board with cap.
