I think the lamp above the table is too big and hides part of the picture behind, which is a very nice one. I would prefer a more technical lamp, maybe a rail with some spotlights, possibly suspended. A carpet is a good idea, but I would definitly not put it under the table, because then even more objects would be cluttered in only one half of the room, the carpet should instead lie on the left half of the room in front of the table, so that it is not covered with furniture. It should pick up the style of the picture on the wall. My first idea would be a carpet I own myself, it fits quite nice to the picture: Ligne Roset - Menhir And I would prefer a white dining table, because the colour of the chairs would make a better contrast, the dark wood of table and floor is quite heavy.

Hi Ella, first of all, let me say that you have some really nice vintage pieces in your home! If you are planning to keep the light grey rug I would go with a darker shade of grey for the daybed and a lighter shade or a completely different color for the fabric of the sidechair (e.g. like the dark blue in your third photo) in order to create more contrast and give the room a more dynamic feel. You also mentioned a portrait to be hung above the sideboard - maybe the colors of this picture can aslo inspire the fabrics, it's always nice if the same color pops up in different details of a room. Hier mal ein paar Antworten ... @Nicola Bushuven: Den Grundriss vom EG habe ich gerade leider nicht "auf Papier", sondern nur im Kopf ... wir haben schon so oft dei Plaene umgestellt, dass die - meiner Meinung nach - beste Option viele Komponenten unterschiedlicher Plaene vereint. Ich schaue mal, dass ich das bis morgen auf Papier bringe .. will hier jetzt aber erst mal keine Verwirrung stiften @Frau Dr. Katja Saare-Surminski: Ich habe auf Houzz ein bisschen gesucht aber leider nicht die richtigen Kellerwohnungen-Ideen gefunden. Hast Du einen Link ... vielleicht stell ich mich hier einfach zu bloed an. Bzgl. der Beluftung habe ich auch schon viel nachgedacht. Hast Du hier Tipps? System oder fuer die Hauptzimmer jeweils separat? Waermerueckgewinnung ? Wie "frisch" ist die Luft dann eigentlich bei einer Entlueftungsanlage ? @Be Lo: in den HWR soll die Therme sowie Waschmaschine, Trockner, etc. Der Raum ist hierfuer vielleicht ein bisschen zu eng. Was ist den eine vernuftige Breite ? 1,8m ? Oder passt auch weniger @kado76: Hast du auch keine Bedenken wegen Lichts & Luft ? @sopame: Die Lounge ist ggf. auch wirklich fuer Pfanzen und Hängematte, etc. einfach was zum abhaengen. Ich finde es praktisch, dass man vom Gaetsezimmer ins Bad kommt, ohne durch das Wohnzimmer zu laufen. Ausserdem koennten wir die Treppe auch noch in den Bereich links einbauen (dort, wo momentan die Kammer geplant ist). Allerdings waere die maximale Breite der Treppe dann 75cm. Passt das um die Geschosse zu verbinden, oder doch lieber eine 80cm Treppe an der (im Plan) vorgesehen position. Tausend Dank und LG Andreas

Have you considered a machine-washable area rug? Due to the practicality, this can be an excellent option for having little ones in the house without sacrificing colour. I recommend a light area rug for the living room to break up the visual weight of the dark floors. To add some personality to the space, I recommend considering furnishings that bring in colour - specifically in sage or blue tones. If, for instance, your sofa or dining chairs are sage or blue, your eyes would be drawn to the pop of colour instead of the dark floors. The walls would instantly feel less bare and act more as a complementary backdrop to the furnishings whilst keeping the space feeling open and airy. Your silver-grey USM shelving would also fit very well with coloured furnishings because it would stand out instead of blending in. For lighting 💡- don't be afraid to add a statement flush-mount lighting fixture in the living room to complete the space. Choosing a light fixture that softly directs light up toward the ceiling will add a warm and spacious feel to the room. And lastly: Consider adding colour to the kitchen to make it feel more warm and inviting. Some budget-friendly options would be to add a backsplash or paint the walls in the kitchen, which would help define this space and bring in personality. Another idea to consider is to paint the kitchen cabinetry. Adding in some form of colour in the kitchen will help bring in the warmth you are missing and develop a sense of dimension so that it doesn't look so "flat".
